The foundation of Tap Dogs HQ. World class Tap, the Dein Perry way; for Tap Pups (boys only), girls and adults, from Beginners to Advanced. Our highly individualised instruction results in rapid skill development and superior technique.
Hip Hop
This is a commercial style of Hip-Hop, influenced by both traditional/Old Skool and Nu Skool Hip-Hop, House, Funk and Popping. Taught by Jason Lewis, Jason’s unique style is highly energetic and exciting to learn and watch. It has both light and shade whilst still hitting clean lines and unique musicality. Suitable for all ages this Hip-Hop style is great to prepare young dancers for the industry allowing them to develop their technique and style and confidence.
Boys Ballet
HQ Ballet is fun virtuoso style class just for boys. Taught by Kip Gamblin who has performed principal roles with the Australian Ballet, Sydney Dance Company and Royal Opera Covent Garden, among others. (You may also know him from TV where he now has a very successful acting career and is currently an All Saints regular). Kip teaches the discipline of ballet with the focus on learning ‘wicked pirouettes and grand allegro (the fun stuff)’ along with core strength, good posture and the correct technique essential for all genres of dance.
Jazz
Fun cool moves danced to the latest music. Learn turns, kicks, and jumps using proper Jazz technique. Great for developing strength, style, flexibility, balance, and gross and fine motor co-ordination. Gain kinaesthetic body awareness to help carry you, and keep you healthy throughout life. Girls Jazz is taught by Sally Clark, a performer & choreographer who brings a wealth of experience to her role as a teacher at Tap Dogs HQ.
Acrobatics
Designed to increase strength and flexibility and gain confidence to perform tricks such as flips, aerial cartwheels, walkovers etc. Students learn handstands, bendbacks, forward and backward rolls and all that forms the basis of all acro tricks in a safe and fun environment. Acro is taught by Deb Whitelock who has qualifications in Health and Fitness (Cert III & IV), Sports Science (BSc) and Sports Training, coupled with extensive dance training.
